Within the framework of the joint exercise "Maritime Interaction-2025", the Russian Navy and the People's Liberation Army Navy provided assistance to a simulated disabled submarine that had run aground.
Russian Navy rescue personnel also shared experience with their Chinese counterparts and demonstrated the functions of modern medical equipment, decompression chambers, and deep-sea rescue equipment "AS-40".
According to the exercise plan, the diesel-electric submarine "Volokhov" of the Pacific Fleet entered the designated area in Peter the Great Bay and simulated an emergency situation of grounding on the seabed.
The Russian submarine crew received assistance from the rescue ship "Xihu" of the Pacific Fleet, whose crew conducted a search and contacted the trapped crew members.
The LR-7 diving rescue boat was lowered from the Chinese ship, which conducted a dive and docked with the deck platform of the "Volokhov" submarine, simulating the evacuation of personnel.
Notably, after the Chinese vessel and the Russian submarine completed their tasks, the crew of the rescue ship "Igor Belousov" performed the same action algorithm with the Chinese diesel-electric submarine.
The military reminded everyone that the China-Russia maritime military exercise "Maritime Cooperation" has been ongoing since 2012.
Military navy officers exchange experience in different fields, including conducting rescue operations.
