Russian forces intercepted 911 drones in a single day, Ukrainian military shifts tactics to target Azov Sea supply lines

On June 6, Russia's Leningrad Oblast suffered a large-scale drone attack. By 9 a.m. on the same day, Russian forces had shot down 141 Ukrainian drones above Leningrad Oblast, with a total of 911 Ukrainian drones intercepted across all regions of Russia in a single day. Leningrad Oblast Governor Alexander Drozdenko reported that after a drone strike hit a Defense Ministry ammunition warehouse in the Lomonosovsky District, partial evacuation of local residents had been initiated.

Kronstadt implemented full entry and exit lockdowns throughout the day; Ukrainian drones targeted the local shipyard. A fuel depot in Ust-Labinsk was attacked and caught fire, prompting 167 firefighters to engage in firefighting operations. Additionally, fires broke out in the Lyubavichi District, Volosovo District, and the Great Izhora area.

Since May 31, the frequency of Ukrainian air strikes on vehicles along the land route R-280 Novorossiysk corridor in Crimea has declined, and Russian road tanker traffic has correspondingly decreased. With the decline in overland freight, the Ukrainian command has shifted its tactics, redirecting air strikes toward the Azov Sea to disrupt Russia’s alternative maritime supply routes.
