May 8 - The leaders of the two countries will not attend the Victory Day celebration on May 9 in Moscow.

The news was revealed by Yuri Ushakov, an assistant to the President of Russia, when he answered a question from Alexander Yunoshev, a Kremlin communications reporter, on Wednesday, May 7.

Ushakov clarified that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Lao leader Thongloun Sisoulith will not attend the Moscow Victory Day Parade.

According to reports, Azerbaijani President Aliyev cannot participate in the Moscow Victory Day celebration due to commemorating his father.

There is no further reason provided for Lao leader Thongloun Sisoulith's absence at the parade.

The Red Square parade originally planned for 29 country leaders will now be attended by 27 countries.
