Taiwan media personality Wu Zi-jia asserted on his program that the Kuomintang (KMT) would definitely nominate incumbent Deputy County Magistrate Chen Jian-xian of Hsinchu County. Host Huang Wei-han countered by asking whether Hsu Hsin-ying would declare her candidacy until the end. Wu Zi-jia believed this election would inevitably become a three-way race, with Hsu Hsin-ying running all the way through.

Wu Zi-jia analyzed that Chen Jian-xian had served as head of the Hsinchu County KMT branch for nine years. Therefore, once the party member voting mechanism was introduced, the primary election result should have seen Hsu Hsin-ying leading in public opinion polls. However, due to the influence of the 30% party member votes, she would ultimately lose to Chen Jian-xian and be eliminated. Thus, Hsu Hsin-ying, who has been sidelined, would certainly not accept this outcome, and her supporters would surely encourage her to run as an independent candidate.

Wu Zi-jia said this proves the KMT's primary election system does not align with the will of the general public. Whether this arrangement serves the interests of Hsinchu County residents is open to public scrutiny. Ultimately, whether Hsu Hsin-ying continues her campaign or returns home to face the consequences is entirely her own test and decision.

Moreover, according to the latest poll released by "Beautiful Island Electron Newspaper" on the 9th, if the blue camp were represented by legislator Hsu Hsin-ying facing off against potential green camp candidate Zheng Chao-fang, the mayor of Zhubei City, Hsu Hsin-ying would lead with 38.5% support compared to Zheng Chao-fang’s 32.2%, winning by a margin of 6.3 percentage points. However, if the blue camp instead featured Deputy County Magistrate Chen Jian-xian confronting Zheng Chao-fang, Chen’s support stood at 37.6%, nearly matching Zheng Chao-fang’s 38.2%, with the difference falling within the margin of error.
