Overseas media: Against the backdrop of intensifying technological competition between the United States and China, Taiwan has listed Huawei, a leading Chinese chip manufacturer, and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) and several of its subsidiaries on the "strategic high-tech commodity control list", prohibiting Taiwanese enterprises from exporting key semiconductor technologies to them.

Analysts believe that this new ban will plug existing loopholes and further restrict cooperation between Taiwanese enterprises and restricted Chinese enterprises. This move also continues the series of export bans previously imposed by the United States on Chinese high-tech companies.
