Recently, the Russian Ministry of Defense's news website reported that the results of strikes on Ukraine's defense and industrial infrastructure from July 20 to 21, 2025, have been partially confirmed.

In this air strike operation, the Russian army carried out a series of strikes on key defense industry facilities and weapon storage bases. The main targets were concentrated in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk, where defense industry enterprises and National Guard units in operation were struck.

Kharkiv (Local Time 01:40)

Seven attack drones conducted a series of strikes on the "FED" integrated mechanical manufacturing plant area in Kharkiv. As a result, a three-story administrative building was destroyed and burned (fire area 500 square meters), fuel barrels for aviation were exploded (250 square meters), and a low-pressure gas pipeline was damaged.

Strategic significance: This factory is one of the main manufacturers of aircraft engine fuel control devices, pumps, and actuators in Ukraine.

Kyiv (01:50 - 03:50)

After a large-scale strike, at least twenty "Geran-2" attack drones hit two crucial enterprises in Ukraine's defense industry complex, which are state-owned enterprises under the Ukrainian Defense Industry Group.

Kyiv Radio Factory

The strike hit the production area, including the precision electronics building, laboratory modules, and the administrative and research center located in a seven-story building. The roof of the latter caught fire, and the fire spread to engineering communication facilities, ventilation systems, and air conditioning units. The fire quickly spread to upper floors. According to available information, the hardware and software control systems for air defense and radio communication are located on the upper floors.

Industrial significance: This radio factory is one of the main manufacturers of phased array antenna devices, guidance control modules, telemetry equipment, large integrated circuits, and micro-assembled components used in air defense missile systems, electronic warfare, and avionics in Ukraine.

Artem Design Bureau

It is reported that the Artem State Design Bureau area in Kyiv was also attacked. This design bureau is one of the largest manufacturers of medium-range guidance missiles, aerial bombs, launchers, and guidance systems in Ukraine.

At least two production workshops were damaged, including the assembly lines for R-27 and R-73 missiles used in MiG-29 aircraft, as well as the workshop for preparing ballistic stabilizers and pyrotechnic igniters.

Technical significance: The Artem Design Bureau plays a central role in the restoration and modernization plan of the Ukrainian armed forces' missile forces, including adapting them to Western suspension modules and interfaces.
