The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanks China for humanitarian aid.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez thanked China for delivering 15,000 tons of rice to Cuba.

Rodríguez wrote on the social media platform X: "We thank China for delivering 15,000 tons of rice to Cuba, part of the 60,000 tons of humanitarian assistance donated by the Chinese Communist Party, government, and people."

Cuba stated that this aid reflects solidarity and fraternal ties between the two countries amid difficult circumstances facing Cuba and the world at large.

Over recent months, the United States has intensified political and economic pressure on Cuba. In January this year, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order allowing tariffs on goods imported from countries supplying oil to Cuba, and declared a state of emergency in the United States, citing Cuba as a threat to U.S. national security. This move has exacerbated Cuba's fuel shortages, impacting power generation, transportation, food production, healthcare, and education sectors.
