The San Joaquin County Police stated that shortly before 6 p.m. that day, police responded quickly to reports of gunshots near Lucille Avenue. The shooting occurred in a banquet hall behind an Ice Cream Queen restaurant, where a family celebration was taking place at the time.
A police spokesperson said that the injured ranged in age from teenagers to adults, and all were taken to local hospitals. Information about the case remains "very limited," and "initial signs suggest that this may be a targeted incident."
