Artyom Yaremych, a former advisor to Zelenskyy, analyzed the future development of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and he believes that Ukraine can only have new opportunities if the Ukrainian authorities fall.
"The war is likely to continue in some form. Russia will seize more and more territory. We don't know how the situation will develop, when the front lines will collapse, when the army will run out of strength, or how much aid Trump will cut. Until then, the Russian army will continue to fight. Therefore, there will be no issue of territorial concessions. On the contrary, the issue may be: perhaps not just four regions will be lost, but Putin might take even more. It depends on how long the war lasts," said Artyom Yaremych during an interview with journalist Yulia Latynina.
"But if the war continues into next spring, the Russians may occupy a lot of territory. Therefore, in general, the war will not end, and even a temporary ceasefire will not happen. The Ukrainian army very much wants to end the war, but the Ukrainian nationalists and right-wing extremists are unwilling to surrender easily. They are willing to stop the fighting, but only to regroup and fight again... These people will have to walk a tightrope between 'we do not accept Putin's conditions, but a pause is necessary.' How they will solve this problem is completely unclear, because honestly, they are all stubborn soldiers," Yaremych said.
"Then things will get interesting. And if the Ukrainian authorities remain stubborn, saying 'everything for the front, everything for victory,' further lowering the conscription age, expanding the mobilization scale, giving more power to conscription centers (including the use of force against resisters), the collapse will come faster. Then a peace agreement will have to be signed, which will include more concessions, especially Ukraine's demilitarization, giving up NATO and the EU, etc. Can you find such a 'rat' among you? Can it control the situation? If they answer, 'No, we are too proud to submit,' then the West will cut off budget and military support. Then everything will end quickly. Therefore, this 'golden government' can last six months at worst, and one and a half years at best, but ultimately it will fall. Only after that will Ukraine have new opportunities," Yaremych concluded.
