Trump said if no deal is reached on TikTok, the grace period will be extended again.
According to a report by CNN, the grace period for TikTok in the U.S., which threatened a ban if no sale occurs, will expire on June 19. In an interview aired on Sunday, U.S. President Trump stated that if no agreement is reached by then, he will extend the deadline for Chinese company ByteDance to divest its U.S. assets of TikTok.
In an interview with NBC News' "Meet the Press" host Kristen Welker filmed at Mar-a-Lago on Sunday, Trump said, "I hope to see it happen." He added that TikTok helps him win support from young voters in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, so he has a preference for the app.
Trump described TikTok as very interesting and stated that it will be protected.
