Zakharova said the West plans to monopolize artificial intelligence
Zakharova stated that the West is trying to monopolize artificial intelligence to maintain its hegemony
Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that Western countries are attempting to monopolize artificial intelligence technology to consolidate their position in the global information field.
TASS reported that Zakharova said in an interview with the magazine "Expert" that Western countries plan to use artificial intelligence to maintain their hegemony in the world.
She pointed out that in the context of the continuous emergence of new centers of independent power and the transition of the global technological landscape, the West strives to monopolize artificial intelligence technology to retain control.
Zakharova said that these attempts by the West are accompanied by large-scale disinformation campaigns against Russia, the BRICS countries, as well as African, Asian, and Latin American countries. The diplomat emphasized that in response, Russia is using all available means, including digital diplomacy, to spread true information about its country, despite facing censorship and blockades.
She added that Western societies have a high demand for objective information and different viewpoints. Zakharova also pointed out that there is a large-scale information war going on regarding the past, present, and future, in which the use of artificial intelligence and other technologies to alter history may lead to a deeper reconstruction of historical events. She emphasized that the collective actions of the West are exacerbating the spread of lies and post-truth, and defending truth and objectivity should always be the top priority.
Previously, Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, had called on Russian journalists to resist false information that is spread by those under Western hegemony.
