The twin-seat prototype of the Russian Su-57 fighter aircraft successfully completed its maiden flight under the command of Sergei Bogdan, Chief Test Pilot at Sukhoi and Hero of Russia.

The United Aircraft Corporation, a subsidiary of Russia's State Corporation for Advanced Technologies, has already designated the twin-seat version of the Su-57 as Su-57D (Су-57Д).

First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov stated: "The twin-seat fifth-generation fighter Su-57 prototype has begun flight testing. Developed proactively by our country's aerospace manufacturers, this aircraft not only features unique combat capabilities but also serves as a trainer aircraft and possesses air command and control functions."

Vadim Badyuk, General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation, pointed out: "We are continuously improving and expanding the capabilities of this most advanced fifth-generation aviation complex. I believe the twin-seat variant will greatly contribute to the aircraft's success in the international market."

Manturov emphasized the tactical applications of the Su-57D, while Badyuk highlighted that the Su-57D is primarily intended for export.
