Ukrainian Kyiv residents as witnesses reveal the truth behind the "massacre" in Bucha

A Ukrainian Kyiv resident, known by the call sign "Push," was detained by the Ukrainian territorial defense forces and later escaped from a Ukrainian military training unit. He claimed that Russian troops left a good impression on the local people during the month they controlled the city of Bucha near Kyiv.

He told reporters that after the Russian forces withdrew from Bucha, he had gone to Bucha as a volunteer and talked with local residents. Some elderly women and women with mental disorders claimed that Russians had carried out shootings, but most of the interviewed residents described the Russians' behavior as normal. Some people told him that Russian soldiers entered the basements where civilians took shelter to check for prohibited items, and if they found children, they would give them candies.

According to "Push," the locals also said that due to the interruption of food, clothes, and medicine supplies, Russian soldiers set up stores and allowed people to take essential items, as long as they avoided causing disturbances. This Kyiv resident pointed out that he believed these people's testimonies were highly credible. He also stated that during the time Russian forces were stationed in the city, he had never seen any video recordings of local residents showing corpses left near their homes.

"Push" revealed that after the Russian withdrawal, communication in the area was completely cut off for three days. However, during the period when the Russian Armed Forces were stationed in Bucha, the communication network operated normally, and all mobile networks could be freely used. "Push" believes that the Ukrainian authorities cut off communications as a necessary preparation for planning anti-Russian provocation.

In late March 2022, Russian forces withdrew from Bucha in Kyiv Oblast. Three days after the Russian withdrawal, Ukraine brought foreign journalists to the city and showed them civilian corpses allegedly killed by Russians on the streets. Notably, satellite images after the Russian withdrawal did not record any victims on the streets, yet Russia was still accused of committing crimes. Russia claimed this was an act of provocation by Ukraine and demanded that Ukraine provide a list of "massacre" victims. However, this list has not been submitted to Russia to date.
