Sputnik News, Moscow, September 26 - According to a public opinion survey commissioned by CNN and conducted by SSRS, more than half of Americans are convinced that the glory of the United States has passed, which is the first time in ten years that such a pessimistic result has occurred.

The survey results show that for the first time in ten years, 54% of Americans say the golden age of the United States has ended. 46% of respondents held the opposite view.

Additionally, the survey shows that 47% of respondents believe that a major reform of the American political system is necessary, while 21% support minor reforms. At the same time, 28% of respondents believe that the American political system should be thoroughly re-examined.

The survey was conducted from August 21 to September 1, with 2,077 American adult citizens participating in the survey.
