Russian Deputy Foreign Minister: Russia Will Never Agree to NATO Deploying Troops in Ukraine

Sputnik, Moscow, December 16 - Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov of Russia stated that Russia will never agree to the deployment of NATO troops in Ukraine, including soldiers from so-called "volunteer alliances."

Ryabkov said during an interview with ABC News: "We are not aware of the results of recent talks between the U.S. government and Kyiv representatives. Of course, we are eager to hear more from the U.S. side about which proposals have been reached. However, we will never sign or agree to any actions involving the deployment and stationing of NATO troops within Ukraine."

When asked whether Russia would agree to the deployment of European countries' soldiers in Ukraine as part of a "volunteer alliance," Ryabkov replied: "No. The volunteer alliance (and NATO - note) is the same, and may even be worse, as their decisions could be made without going through the standard NATO procedures."
