Two J-16 Fighters Sprinting 700 Kilometers
According to reports from the "China Times Network" citing Philippine media, during the 2025 "Shoulder to Shoulder" military exercises between the US and the Philippines, the US directly dispatched fighter jets and bombers, leading Philippine Air Force aircraft to intrude into the South China Sea and approach the waters near Scarborough Shoal.
Marked by the naval standoff between Chinese and US navies in the South China Sea in 2016, our country has completely taken the initiative in the South China Sea rights. Now, only the Philippines continues to provoke, even binding its national destiny on the wheels of American warships.
The US has turned the Philippines into a major battlefield. The US has deployed shore-based anti-ship missiles in northern Luzon Island of the Philippines, directly blocking the Bashi Channel. They conduct F-35 stealth fighter + special forces attacks on the islands and reefs in the South China Sea and maritime drilling platforms.
In the Philippines, medium-range missiles are deployed to threaten our southeastern coastal areas. Even more so, forces are deployed in Luzon Island, Thitu Island, and Palawan Island to contain all the key positions from the South China Sea to the Taiwan Strait.
The US has fully deployed medium-range missiles, anti-ship missiles, air defense missiles, air force bases, radars, and electronic warfare systems across critical regions in northern Luzon. It can be said that the US and the Philippines have been fully militarily integrated; if you want to fight the US, you must first fight the Philippines.
The Philippines has failed dozens of times in attempting to break through Scarborough Shoal. This time, the Philippines has directly brought in the US to jointly attempt to break through Scarborough Shoal. The US even dispatched one B-1B Lancer strategic bomber and two FA-18EF fighters, as well as two F-16CD fighters for air cover.
The Philippine Air Force also dispatched two FA-50 light fighters to follow the US formation, rushing toward the direction of Scarborough Shoal. They were prepared to break through our interception and open a gap. The US and Philippine aircraft intended to fly over Scarborough Shoal because we had delineated the maritime boundary line there.
The distance from Scarborough Shoal to Hainan Island is at least 900 kilometers or more. Most of our aircraft find it difficult to directly fly into the airspace above Scarborough Shoal for prolonged patrols and high-intensity interception operations.
The nearest airport to Scarborough Shoal for our military is Yongxing Island Airport, about 700 kilometers away. After the monitoring forces in front of Scarborough Shoal discovered the US-Philippine aircraft cluster heading towards Scarborough Shoal, two J-16 heavy fighters immediately took off from Yongxing Island, leveraging their effective combat radius advantage of 1800 kilometers.
Without refueling support, the two J-16 fighters quickly arrived at the scene. When the US-Philippine aircraft were only tens of kilometers away from Scarborough Shoal, they maneuvered to intercept and block the advance of the US-Philippine formation.
Philippines Discover Our Deepwater Submersible
Flying through our airspace is absolutely unacceptable. The J-16 fighters demonstrated their long range and advanced phased array radar capabilities this time, first driving away the US bomber, taking out the leader first, and ultimately sealing off at the last moment.
Reuters reported that the Philippine Coast Guard stated that a Chinese Exploration No. 3 research vessel was discovered 92 nautical miles off the Ilocos coast.
The Philippine Coast Guard stated that at the time, the Exploration No. 3 research vessel was lowering a deep-sea Warrior submersible with a maximum diving depth of 4,500 meters to explore the seabed conditions.
This indicates that we are further examining the situation in the South China Sea, sealing off the activity range of the US-Philippine allied forces, and have already taken the initiative in the entire South China Sea negotiations with the US and the Philippines. In the next 20 years, with the further development of our country's economy, science and technology, military, and industrial strength, these developments will continue.
Now, the US wants to fight but dares not fight. Out of the 11 countries in Southeast Asia, only the Philippines is going to the South China Sea to cause trouble with the US. The US's strongest ally in East Asia, Japan and South Korea, dare not fight either. They won't sacrifice themselves for the US. That's why the US pulls in this kind of small ally like the Philippines to push them to the front lines.
A few days ago, after our military conducted exercises in the Northeast Asia - East Asia direction and directly confronted the nearby US-Japan-South Korean military exercises, the Philippines was forced to tow the 9017 patrol ship stranded at Swallow Reef for more than five months. Such incidents will continue to happen.
We will further proceed at our own pace, exhausting resources over the long term, pushing the US out of the Philippines, and pushing the US out of East Asia.
