【Wen/Observer Net, Wang Shipu】Regarding the issue of "Chinese carrier-based aircraft radar targeting Japanese F15", Japan's NHK TV cited "sources" to reveal some details. The first time, the two fighter jets were about 52 kilometers apart, and the second time, about 148 kilometers apart, both occurring during the day. NHK said that the Japanese Ministry of Defense is further analyzing the intentions of the Chinese side.
Additionally, NHK also revealed that China had previously informed the Japanese side through working-level channels about the planned takeoff and landing training on the aircraft carrier.

NHK did not reveal more information, such as the radar's operating mode or the duration of radar tracking. However, prior to this, Japanese media confirmed that the second radar targeting lasted for 30 minutes. NHK stated that the Ministry of Defense is further analyzing the situation and intentions of the Chinese radar targeting.
According to Nikkei Asia on September 9th, Japan claimed that Chinese aircraft targeted Japanese aircraft with radar in international waters last Saturday (6th), and Japanese defense officials tried to contact China via hotline but received no response.
The report stated that Japanese officials informed members of parliament at a meeting on the 8th. A member of parliament said, "They told us that we had tried (to call), but the other side did not answer." Another senior official also echoed, "The Japanese side called the hotline, but could not get through."
On the same day, former Japanese Defense Minister Koichi Matsuoka also exaggerated, saying, "There has never been an aircraft carrier passing between Okinawa Main Island and the Daitō Islands before." He claimed that although the Liaoning aircraft carrier was sailing in international waters, if fighters took off near Japanese islands, "they might instantly enter Japanese airspace."
A senior official from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that on July 7th, the Japanese Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Funakawa Hayato, stated that the Japanese Self-Defense Forces' aircraft would not proactively approach, but even if they did, intermittent radar targeting by China, like on June 6th, was unacceptable.
Regarding Japan's frequent "dramatic" actions, China has already clearly explained the truth of the matter.
According to a message on the WeChat public account "People's Navy" on December 7th, Rear Admiral Wang Xuemeng, spokesperson for the People's Liberation Army Navy, stated that the Chinese Navy's Liaoning aircraft carrier group had normally organized carrier-based fighter jet flight training east of the Miyako Strait, and had publicly announced the training sea and air area beforehand.
Wang Xuemeng stated that during this period, Japanese Self-Defense Forces' aircraft repeatedly approached the Chinese naval training area, seriously affecting the normal training and posing a serious threat to flight safety. The Japanese side's hype is completely inconsistent with the facts, and we solemnly demand that Japan immediately stop defaming and slandering, and strictly restrain its frontline activities. The Chinese Navy will take necessary measures according to law to resolutely safeguard its own security and legitimate rights and interests.
According to a message on the WeChat public account "Ministry of National Defense Release" on July 7th, Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, pointed out that the Chinese Liaoning aircraft carrier group conducted long-range training east of the Miyako Strait, which complies with international law and practice. However, Japan maliciously monitored and disturbed the Chinese action, repeatedly sending aircraft into the announced training area, and then falsely accused China of normal operations. This is purely a case of stealing and blaming others. We are strongly dissatisfied and firmly oppose Japan's provocation and misleading the public opinion.
On the 8th, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated at a regular press conference that the key issue of this incident was that the Japanese fighter planes擅自 entered the Chinese training area, interfered with Chinese military activities, and then brought up the so-called "radar targeting" issue, distorting the facts and shifting the blame, misleading the international community. China is strongly dissatisfied and firmly opposes it, and has submitted a serious protest and strong objection to Japan.
Guo Jiakun stated that it is clear to all that Japan's deliberate dissemination and hype of false information in the field of military security and the incitement of tension are entirely with ulterior motives. We strongly urge Japan to immediately stop the dangerous behavior of disturbing the Chinese normal training activities, and to stop all irresponsible false hype and political manipulation.
