Republicans Award Trump a New "America First" Prize

House Speaker Mike Johnson announced that President Donald Trump will be the first recipient of a brand-new annual "America First" award.

"We are preparing to bestow upon him a new honor, which will be awarded annually moving forward. He is undoubtedly the first deserving recipient of this 'America First' prize. We can't think of a more fitting name for such an award. This exquisite golden statue symbolizes the dawn of a new golden age for America," Johnson said at the National Republican Congressional Committee's annual dinner in Washington.

The golden eagle-shaped trophy was unveiled at the dinner.

Last December, during the 2026 World Cup draw ceremony, FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that the organization’s first Peace Prize would be awarded to the U.S. President. In addition to a gold medal, Trump received a large golden trophy from Infantino’s hands.

This January, Venezuelan opposition figure María Corina Machado presented Trump with her Nobel Peace Prize medal, which Trump accepted. He stated he should receive a separate award for every conflict he has resolved.
