Russian Deputy Prime Minister: Construction of the Russian Industrial Zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone in Egypt May Take 2-3 Years

Russian State News Agency Cairo September 15 - Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Ovechkin of Russia stated that the preparation for the Russian industrial zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone in Egypt may take 2-3 years.

On September 14, a Russian delegation led by Ovechkin arrived in Cairo, including Russian entrepreneurs.

Ovechkin told journalists: "The development of the industrial zone is a large project that takes time. How long? Usually, such preparatory work takes 2-3 years."

Ovechkin pointed out that the land for the industrial zone was recently allocated, that is, in May this year.

The Russian industrial zone covers 50 hectares and is located near the city of Ain Sukhna in the northeastern part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone. The main objective of the Russian industrial zone project is to create industrial infrastructure for Russian export-oriented enterprises, increase high-tech product trade with Egypt, and expand the market supply of Russian products through Egypt's trade agreements with third countries.
