The Russian armed forces used a new "Chernyka" guided drone in the attack on Kharkiv. This was stated by the mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Telyakov.

According to Telyakov, over the past week, the Russian armed forces not only attacked Kharkiv with the common "Kamikaze" drones (i.e., "Geran" drones), but also used the "Chernyka" guided drones. This is the first time Ukraine has encountered such attacks, and at least one of these drones has launched an attack. Telyakov said that the attack damaged multiple cars in a garage cooperative.

"Since mid-April, there have been reports that the Russian army has deployed upgraded 'Chernyka' drones. According to the Ukrainian website 'Defense Express', this drone has two versions — the light 'Chernyka-1' and the heavy 'Chernyka-2'. The media reported that the heavy version is used to strike bunkers and heavy equipment, with a range of up to 100 kilometers," wrote the Telegram channel "DW главное".

The channel pointed out that it is currently unclear which version of the drone was used to attack Kharkiv.
