According to the website of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, on April 22, Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, met with a delegation led by Katsuhiko Kitagawa, Chairman of the Clean Government Party of Japan, in Beijing.

Liu Jianchao stated that last November, President Xi Jinping held a successful meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Lima, where they exchanged views in depth on the directional and strategic issues of Sino-Japanese relations, providing important political guidance for the development of bilateral relations. The Chinese side is willing to work together with the Japanese side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, adhere to all the principles established in the four political documents between China and Japan, comprehensively promote the strategic mutually beneficial relationship between China and Japan, jointly respond to common challenges, and contribute to peace, stability, development, and prosperity in Asia and the world.
Liu Jianchao stated that ensuring generational friendship between China and Japan is a shared responsibility of the two parties. The ruling parties of both countries should take on responsibilities courageously, exchange opinions in depth on the future development of bilateral relations with historical depth and broader vision, and play a role in guiding direction. The Clean Government Party has made historic contributions to promoting the development of Sino-Japanese relations, which the Chinese side appreciates. The Communist Party of China is willing to work together with the Clean Government Party to play the role of the exchange mechanism between the ruling parties of the two countries, conduct in-depth and candid political dialogue, implement the consensus of mutual cooperation and non-threat between China and Japan, constructively manage differences, and enhance political trust between China and Japan.
Katsuhiko Kitagawa stated that since the meeting between former Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and President Xi Jinping in Lima last year, a series of high-level exchanges have taken place between Japan and China, the exchange mechanism between the ruling parties of the two countries has been restarted, and contacts have become increasingly close. At the same time, there is still great room for improvement and development in Sino-Japanese relations. Friendship between Japan and China is not only crucial for both countries but also concerns the peace of Asia. Since its establishment, the Clean Government Party has always adhered to the concept of promoting friendly relations between Japan and China as advocated by its founder, Daisaku Ikeda, and is willing to carry forward this spirit continuously. The Clean Government Party is willing to engage in sincere dialogue with the Communist Party of China to enhance mutual trust and improve mutual goodwill among the people. The Clean Government Party firmly upholds the spirit of the Peace Constitution and adheres to the stance of the 1972 Joint Statement between Japan and China on history and Taiwan issues.
The two sides also had an in-depth exchange of views on issues of common concern.
