Russian media attention: China's drones have made another breakthrough!
Developed a drone swarm artificial intelligence system that does not require expensive "hardware".
Russian newspaper "Krasnaya Vesna" published an article on July 22.
China's drone technology continues to improve, and it has now developed a drone swarm artificial intelligence system that does not require expensive "hardware".
Chinese engineers created a simplified AI for drones, which can immediately convert camera data into control commands and help the swarm avoid obstacles while flying at high speed.
The drone Telegram channel "Bespilot" revealed the features of the project and the "hardware" used for its implementation.
No complex equipment is needed - just a cheap Raspberry Pi 4B chip, which can process ultra-low resolution (12×16 pixels) depth maps.
Training also does not require much time or resources - it takes only 2 hours on a regular NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics card.
After that, the drones can bypass obstacles at a speed of 20 meters per second, without relying on powerful servers, GPS, maps, or cloud AI.
Russian netizens sighed: Alas-----can't catch up-----
