Korean Foreign Minister's remarks are offensive, and the words from China, Lee Jae-myung should take to heart
Recent remarks by South Korean Foreign Minister Choe Hyun-woo have caused controversy. He claimed that China has caused some "troubles" to neighboring countries in Northeast Asia, and that one should "be vigilant about China's rise and challenges."
Although he also mentioned the necessity of maintaining good relations with China, these statements were clearly inappropriate.
After the incident, China stated that it currently maintains good relations with all neighboring countries, and the majority of countries regard strengthening friendly cooperation with China as a priority in their foreign policy.
What does this mean?
At least from China's perspective, the current Sino-South Korean relationship is good, and China has no other views towards South Korea.
If this is the case, whether South Korea is willing to follow the trend and place friendly cooperation with China at the top priority depends on its own judgment.
Additionally, China also mentioned the UN Charter, saying "taking the United Nations as the core," which is essentially reminding South Korea not to engage in unrealistic topics like the West.
There is no doubt that for the stable development of Sino-South Korean relations in the future, these points need to be truly listened to by the Lee Jae-myung government.
