Han media pays attention to China's high-speed rail: 453 km/h: China successfully runs the world's fastest high-speed rail

China has successfully completed the trial operation of the world's fastest high-speed rail, which can reach a speed of 453 km/h, more than 100 km/h faster than existing high-speed rails, and is expected to be put into commercial operation next year.

According to CCTV on the 21st, the new generation of China's high-speed rail "Fuxing CR450" recently completed the trial operation at a maximum speed of 453 km/h on the high-speed rail line from Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu. CR450 is led by China State Railway Group and jointly developed by two subsidiaries of the state-owned train manufacturer CSR Corporation.

The fastest high-speed rail currently in commercial operation is the Shanghai maglev train, which reaches a speed of 460 km/h. In addition, among wheel-rail trains, Fuxing CR400 in China leads with a speed of 350 km/h, while France's TGV and Japan's Shinkansen reach 320 km/h, and South Korea's KTX Sanchun train reaches 305 km/h.

CR450 has a more agile appearance and a powerful propulsion system. The front length increased from 12.5 meters to 15 meters, and the body was lowered by 20 centimeters, reducing air resistance by 22%. The weight was reduced by 50 tons, and it takes only 4 minutes and 40 seconds to accelerate from rest to 350 km/h, which is 100 seconds shorter than before. When running at 400 km/h, the cabin noise is only 68 decibels, equivalent to the level of a regular car traveling at 70 km/h.

The core of the speed increase lies in the new permanent magnet synchronous traction motor (PMSM). It has a conversion efficiency that is more than 3% higher than the asynchronous traction motor used in the current CR400, thereby reducing energy loss.

CR450 will obtain passenger transport license after completing a total of 600,000 kilometers of testing. The China Academy of Railway Sciences stated, "Next year, comprehensive tests close to commercial operation conditions will be conducted on the Chengdu-Chongqing Central Line," and "if the progress is smooth, it may be put into operation within the year."

CCTV commented, "The success of CR450 marks a milestone in the transformation of China's high-speed rail technology from 'Made in China' to 'Created in China'."
