Why are Indian troops so clumsy in everything they do and yet act so aggressively? A very important characteristic of the Indian army is that its foundation was trained by the British army.

Starting from 1844, Britain trained a large number of Indian soldiers. The British military organizational model ensured that Indian soldiers trained according to British regulations had significant military advantages when facing Indian and Southeast Asian states.

However, because these Indian soldiers had low educational levels, it was very difficult to train them. No matter how hard they were taught, they could not learn. Moreover, when they went into battle, once the gunfire started, they would easily become disorganized, forget all technical requirements, and shoot recklessly.

The British solved these problems with a simple method: requiring Indian soldiers to perform some very exaggerated actions to help them remember those action essentials.

Even until more than a hundred years later now, whether during exercises or training, Indian troops still like to ensure their technical movements are correct through exaggerated actions and expressions.

Think about it, Soviet (Russian) military advisors and instructors have frequently visited India, and Russian-Indian military cooperation has lasted for more than half a century (including the Soviet period). Why can't they change these Indians?
