South Korean Hostel Case: Japanese Man Accused of Indecent Behavior

According to South Korean media outlet Kyodo News (Japanese edition), on May 11, the Busan District Prosecutors' Office announced that a man in his 30s from Japan has been charged with indecent acts and other offenses after allegedly urinating on a Chinese female tourist at a hostel in the city.

The suspect is accused of urinating on the leg and luggage of a 20-something-year-old Chinese woman while she was asleep at a hostel in Busan on April 15. The room in question was a mixed-gender dormitory accommodating up to six people.

At the time, the woman posted on social media stating: “When I woke up due to noise, I found a man performing indecent actions beside my bed. He said, ‘When I turned on the light, his urine splashed all over my body, the bed, and my luggage.’”

A South Korean prosecutor stated: “We will do everything possible to ensure the defendant receives the punishment he deserves.”
