The Slovak Prime Minister: The UK and France's announcement of sending troops to Ukraine is provoking Russia
Russian State News Agency, Bratislava, January 12th - Slovak Prime Minister Fico believes that the UK and France's announcement of sending troops to Ukraine is provoking Russia.
Fico said in an interview with Slovak TAZ TV: "The two former allies of the Soviet Union in World War II, the UK and France, seem to be provoking, which is very strange. This is a provocation. I think everyone has heard the statement by the Russian representative that every foreign soldier on Ukrainian territory will become a legitimate target in this conflict."
Fico reiterated that Slovakia will never send troops to Ukraine and is prepared to continue implementing reciprocal civil projects with Ukrainian authorities.
UK Prime Minister Starmer said after the so-called "Volunteer Alliance" meeting on January 6 that once the conflict in Ukraine ceases, the UK and France will establish multiple military bases throughout Ukraine and build equipment warehouses for the Ukrainian military. The Russian Foreign Ministry previously stated that any scenario of NATO member states deploying forces in Ukraine is firmly unacceptable to Russia, which could trigger a sharp escalation of the situation.
