Mark Zuckerberg's super yacht, the "Platform," reportedly ignored a distress call from a small fishing boat off the coast of Alaska.
The Alaska Beacon reported that the 21-foot vessel ran out of fuel while sailing between Petersburg and Juneau. Although Zuckerberg's mega-yacht, owned by his company Meta, was closer in proximity, it was actually the more distant "Wild Heritage" cruise ship that arrived to provide assistance.
A passenger aboard the cruise ship revealed that the captain informed everyone that the nearby "Platform" never responded to radio calls. In response, nearly all passengers voiced their disapproval with audible boos.
The U.S. Coast Guard explained that the small boat did not constitute an actual maritime emergency—its crew had simply run out of fuel and needed help. Zuckerberg's spokesperson also clarified that the billionaire and his family were not on board the yacht at the time of the incident.
