Stampede at the Eastern India Chariot Festival, resulting in three deaths

A stampede occurred during a religious festival celebration in eastern India, resulting in three deaths and six injuries.

According to Reuters, a senior administrative official revealed that the incident occurred at dawn on Sunday (June 29), when thousands of Hindu devotees were gathering in Puri, Odisha, to participate in the annual Chariot Festival (Rath Yatra) celebration.

Police Chief of Odisha, Kunlaniya said, "The accident resulted in three deaths and six injured, who have all been out of danger." In India, stampedes often occur during large religious gatherings.
