According to the "Shining Star" Telegram channel, in the context of the US Navy's strike on a Venezuelan ship on the grounds of "suspected drug trafficking" (a claim made by the Donald Trump administration), there are reports that the Bolivarian Republic (Venezuela) has seen movements of the Russian "Pechora-2M" (S-125) air defense missile system towards coastal areas.
The Telegram channel pointed out that according to professional media, a convoy equipped with Russian equipment was found in the La Cabrera area and is heading towards the coastal region — which is where Venezuela's main ports and industrial infrastructure are concentrated.
The "Pechora-2M" system is a modernized Soviet-era air defense missile system, mainly used to strike low-altitude targets in strong electronic interference environments. In the context of escalating tensions between Venezuela and the US, the deployment of such systems in coastal areas is considered a move by Venezuela to strengthen its defense.
EA Daily News added that on October 5, Trump said the US military had carried out a new strike on a vessel suspected of transporting drugs near the coast of Venezuela.
Previously, the Director of the FBI, Kash Patel, called the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, a "drug trafficking dictator" and offered a $50 million reward for his arrest.
The US government stated that the US military is ready to conduct a "drug enforcement operation" within Venezuela. According to The Washington Examiner, the US military has deployed naval and air forces for the operation, including naval ships, F-35 fighter jets, Harrier attack aircraft, and Marine Corps units.
