Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov: We Are Not Lucky Enough to Have Such "Luxury"

On January 20, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov made a statement regarding Ukraine's attempt, in conjunction with the EU, to forcibly impose a 60-day ceasefire that is favorable to them, during his summary of Russia's foreign affairs for 2025. He stated that Russia would never allow the Kyiv regime to regain arms again, giving it the chance to catch its breath and then launch another attack on Russia.

"On August 15 this year, we accepted the proposals put forward by Washington before the Alaska meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, and we still hope these agreements will remain fully effective. Despite our observation that Europe, along with Zelensky and his team, has been almost hysterically trying to get the US to abandon this position, once again imposing their own ideas on others, with the first being the proposal for a 60-day or even permanent ceasefire.

Evidently, Ukraine's current situation is extremely unfavorable - this is true both on the front lines and in the political sphere outside the battlefield. In Kyiv's political life, various corruption scandals have overshadowed other issues. However, Russia clearly will not allow the Kyiv regime to gain arms again, nor will it let it take a breather through a ceasefire and then become a tool of the irrational Western European forces to launch another attack on the Russian Federation. We are simply not lucky enough to have such 'luxury'."
