Oil tankers cannot pass through the Strait of Hormuz. At least six cruise ships have formed a convoy, and since yesterday, they have been racing at full speed through the Strait of Hormuz, located on the southern side near Iran's minefields, potentially facing artillery attacks.
Ship tracking websites show that two of them have stopped, remaining motionless for several hours. The rest are speeding ahead at full throttle to break through.
This is absolutely insane!
Between renewed U.S.-Iran negotiations aimed at lifting sanctions and prolonged closure of the strait, cruise companies have voted with their feet—betting on the latter scenario.
If these cruise ships were carrying passengers, it would be even more reckless.
