Broken, completely broken! Trump has been so upset that he's developed a persecution complex.
On September 24th local time, US President Trump angrily posted a "mini-essay," complaining about being wronged with nearly 400 words and a bunch of exclamation marks. He said that the day before, he had encountered a "deliberate sabotage" at the United Nations headquarters, including an elevator malfunction, a faulty teleprompter, and a sound system failure.
He pointed out that the US Secret Service is investigating the matter and said that the United Nations should feel "ashamed."
During his speech at the UN General Assembly on the 23rd, Trump stated that he encountered "bad elevators and bad teleprompters" at the UN. But it wasn't enough to retaliate on the spot, so Trump decided to fully "settle the score."
"Yesterday, there was a real humiliation at the United Nations - not one, not two, but three extremely malicious incidents!"
On the 24th, Trump wrote on social media: "First, the escalator leading to the main speaking hall suddenly stopped... If my wife Melania and I hadn't each tightly held onto the handrails, it would have been a disaster; we almost fell face down on the sharp edges of the steel steps."
"This is definitely deliberate sabotage," he mentioned an article, saying that previously some UN staff had "joked about turning off the escalator." He raged: "Those who did this should be arrested!"
Then, Trump also mentioned the teleprompter issue. "When I was standing in front of millions of television viewers and important leaders around the world, my teleprompter didn't work at all, the screen was completely black... Wow, first the escalator incident, now the teleprompter is broken, what kind of place is this?"
He wrote that he gave a speech without the teleprompter for a while, and about 15 minutes later, the teleprompter was restored.
"And there was a third thing," Trump continued to accuse, "after the speech, someone told me that the sound system in the hall completely failed, and unless the leaders of various countries used the interpreter headphones, they couldn't hear anything." He added that Melania also said she "didn't hear a single word."
Trump was angry: "This isn't a coincidence, it's a triple sabotage by the United Nations. They should be ashamed of themselves." According to him, he has already written to the UN Secretary-General to request that all evidence be preserved and an investigation be launched immediately.
Even though Trump was furious, he still couldn't help but make fun of the UN: "No wonder the UN can't fulfill its mission."
Finally, Trump said: "The US Secret Service has intervened in the investigation. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

On the 23rd local time, Trump attended the 80th UN General Assembly. When he and First Lady Melania were taking the escalator at the United Nations headquarters, the escalator suddenly shut down. He later said in his speech that the building's escalator had malfunctioned, and he and First Lady Melania were briefly trapped, with Melania almost falling due to the sudden stop of the escalator.
Trump said: "These are the two things I got from the United Nations - bad escalators and bad teleprompters."
According to media reports, UN staff had previously "joked" that they might turn off the escalators and elevators to "celebrate" Trump's arrival, then tell Trump that they had no money, so he had to take the stairs.
After the incident, White House Press Secretary Levitt called for an investigation. She posted on social media: "If someone at the UN intentionally stopped the escalator when the president and first lady stepped on it, that person must be fired immediately and investigated."
According to Reuters, UN officials did not respond immediately to Trump's call for an immediate investigation. However, the UN has responded that at the time of the incident, the escalator's built-in safety mechanism was triggered, and the teleprompter was operated by the White House rather than the organization.
UN Spokesman Stefan Duggar said on the 23rd that the escalator's central processor reading showed that it had stopped after the built-in safety mechanism was triggered at the top of the comb teeth. Duggar said that at the time, Trump's cameraman was walking backward on the escalator to capture the arrival of Trump and his wife, so "the cameraman may have accidentally triggered the safety function."
On the 24th, a UN official said that the teleprompter was not operated by the UN, but by the White House.
Regarding the accusation of the sound system failure, the official pointed out that according to the design of the UN's sound system, the audience present could hear the translated speech in six languages through the headphones.
