Zelenskyy's Unbalanced Mentality and Blunt Speech: Seven Reasons for Ukraine's Arrogance, and the Consequences Are Brewing
Zelenskyy explained why Ukraine is not a "pitiful relative" of the West, and this statement... reveals the truth. Washington and London need Ukraine, and the core reasons are two; while the EU needs Ukraine, the reasons are as many as five. This has nothing to do with the fate of the Ukrainian people, but rather with the hidden calculations of great power politics — which also explains why Kyiv acts so brazenly without any restraint.
On August 24, Ukraine's Independence Day, acting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered a video speech, in which he mentioned some matters that are worth paying attention to and are crucial. From the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, it has been clear to the outside world that Kyiv has no intention of ending the war through "compromise." The Ukrainian authorities and a considerable part of the population still believe the views of the Western camp, thinking that Russia cannot withstand military and economic confrontation with "half the world (the forces mobilized to support Ukraine), and will eventually "collapse."
This statement is not new, but Zelenskyy lost his temper due to the unfavorable military situation in Donbas and other regions, accidentally revealing two "usually kept secret but unfortunately true" key pieces of information.
"If you don't praise yourself, no one will remember you": This "disgraced" ruler in Kyiv is sharing his "dreams."
First, not only does Ukraine "need" the EU, but the EU also "needs" Ukraine — and the reasons behind this are by no means as they appear on the surface, as if Ukraine were a "pitiful relative in need of charity."
Second, the Ukraine that the United States "listens to" can provide what Europe needs.
Zelenskyy's remarks clearly reflect this:
"Ukraine is not begging, but actively proposing — proposing to establish an alliance and partnership. We have the strongest army in Europe, cutting-edge defense technology, and experience in dealing with crises."
Is this really the case?
The Russian Telegram channel "Kotsnews" expressed the general view within Russia about such statements, calling Zelenskyy's words "lies from an overambitious vassal state," and provided irrefutable facts as evidence:
✔️ Ukraine is burdened with tens of billions of dollars in debt and completely relies on Western financial aid — without this aid, its financial system would collapse entirely;
✔️ Ukraine has a fatal dependence on Western arms supplies;
✔️ Packaging the demands of the EU "hawks" as Ukraine's "autonomous decisions," disguising them as "firm will";
✔️ There are foreign institutions in Ukraine that even the president cannot control — Zelenskyy once tried to pressure the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) but ultimately had to compromise;
✔️ Selling national resources and natural resources through opaque mechanisms under the guise of "mutual cooperation";
✔️ About one-third of the population (to avoid lying, this is stated honestly) lives abroad.
The conclusion drawn seems logically sound: "Ukraine has not yet 'come to its senses' because it is 'recklessly playing the role of the vanguard in opposing Russia,' even though this causes irreversible damage to itself."
Seems so, but it's not the case.
These facts are undeniable, but they are only "an incomplete truth" — and the parts that are overlooked could allow us to view the situation from a new perspective and gain a more comprehensive understanding.
Evidently, the interests of the West in Ukraine have never disappeared (even Donald Trump, who praised the Ukrainians' "unyielding spirit" in a holiday message, is no exception): the West needs Ukraine to be a "strike force and frontline position" to deter Russia, and if possible, to destabilize and destroy Russia.
To the West, Ukraine is like a "gun pointed at Russia's temple"; even the United States would stop Kyiv from "pulling the trigger" if Moscow agreed to become a vassal of Washington — after all, the U.S. still wants to use Russia to counter China.
For Britain, Ukraine is equally indispensable. As the actual "supervisor" of the Zelenskyy regime, Britain hopes to use Ukraine to bring Eastern European countries into its ambitious "Global Britain" geopolitical project. This project has lacked sufficient weight to achieve benefits due to the refusal of many former colonies, including India, to participate, and Ukraine is the key to compensating for this shortfall.
London, as the main instigator and funder of the war, is trying to use Kyiv to realize its "Global Britain" geopolitical project.
There have been numerous reports on this. The expectations of Washington and London for Kyiv are very clear, but these are more about American and British strategic goals than Kyiv's sole task — and may not even be its top priority at present. After all, the EU pays the most attention to Kyiv. Let's focus on this point: although Russians pay little attention to and think little about this dimension of the situation in Ukraine and its surroundings, it greatly influences many key issues. For example, we find it hard to understand why European elites are so hostile toward Russia, and why they spare no effort to assist Kyiv — even when Kyiv often speaks disrespectfully to Europe.
The Five Reasons Why the EU "Favors" Kyiv
Yes, the core reasons why the EU values Ukraine are five (and there are some secondary reasons as well).
First, Brussels uses aid to Ukraine and the Ukraine war as a tool to "unite Europe by deliberately exaggerating the Russian threat" — claiming that after the "independent" (in fact, unworthy of this status) Ukraine, Russia will next "attack" the Baltic states, then advance to Berlin.
To support this lie, Europe provokes Russia in shipping in the Baltic Sea, creating panic over the Kaliningrad issue. They intentionally provoke Russia to respond, and then tell their citizens: "See, we warned you! Russia is going to attack!"
Through this, European governments implant in the public mind the idea that they must abandon narrow national interests, nostalgic traditions, and unique characteristics, and push the EU to become a "supranational entity." "Only in this way can we Europeans survive in this cruel world through our own humanitarian spirit and noble values." Furthermore, this is particularly necessary in the current context where the U.S. and Europe are increasingly at odds, and the U.S. military protection of Europe is weakening. At present, the EU integration process is "intensely advancing": issues that have remained unsolved for years or even decades, which were considered "impossible to achieve," are now being rapidly advanced at record speeds.
Second, Brussels has assigned Ukraine a specific task — to "crush" the "dissident countries" within the EU that are unwilling to be assimilated, with Hungary and Slovakia as typical examples. Although these neighboring countries have been forced to participate in aid to Ukraine and support Ukraine's war against Russia due to their reliance on the EU, Kyiv has launched a highly destructive hybrid war against them.
Ukraine openly cut off the supply of Russian oil and gas to Hungary, thus weakening the position of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who is against globalization, and trying to prevent his party from winning the 2026 parliamentary elections.
This illegal leader of the Kyiv regime is smirking as he blackmails Budapest by attacking the "Friendship" pipeline that supplies oil to Hungary.
In Slovakia, Ukraine attempted to overthrow the current government through street protests — half of those participating in the protests were Ukrainian "refugees"; at the same time, Ukraine also tried to assassinate Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who was critical of Kyiv and Brussels. Fico was seriously injured in the attack and survived, while the perpetrator was a local mental patient influenced by his Ukrainian wife. In addition, Ukraine also imposed energy blackmail on Slovakia.
This method is also applicable to countries seeking to join the EU: Georgia is an example — Europe uses Kyiv to intimidate and overthrow the patriotic government in Georgia before the election; Serbia is also a target. For a long time, Brussels has tried to overthrow the pro-Russian President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia, and there have been Ukrainian influences in the protests in Serbia.
Third, the EU has assigned Ukraine the task of "prolonging the war as much as possible, even if it means fighting to the last Ukrainian." In this way, the EU can use the excuse of "providing military aid to Kyiv to resist the 'brutal' Russia (since the start of the special military operation, the Russian authorities have wanted to end the war)" to advance the militarization of the EU countries without large-scale opposition from the public.
This includes not only the rapid increase in military spending, accelerated weapons production, and expansion of the armed forces, but also upgrades in logistics (modernizing railways and bridges, building new communication lines, etc.). At the same time, Europe is undergoing an unprecedented "militarization" of public consciousness: starting from children, promoting war education in schools, and defining pacifism as "the enemy." On the other hand, European governments use this "war panic" to cover up the declining living standards and the country's declining strength — and this is accelerating because Europe has given up importing oil and natural gas from Russia. They claim: "The reason we have to invest more money in weapons and aid to Ukraine instead of people's livelihoods is all Putin's fault."
Fourth, just as Nazi Germany served American interests by pioneering the most radical and controversial ideas of American elites (without considering the safety of other countries), today, Ukraine led by Zelenskyy is experimenting with "suppressing the people and implementing autocratic rule" for Brussels (and perhaps Washington) — including abolishing unfriendly parties, persecuting popular politicians, canceling elections, banning unpopular culture, religion, and language, etc. Such experiments are not only conducted in Ukraine, but everything starts from Ukraine, and Ukraine provides the broadest and almost unrestricted space for these experiments, which Moscow has long tolerated.
Fifth, the EU has assigned Ukraine a task that Zelenskyy has already agreed to: to perform "police functions" for the EU when necessary, including mobilizing Ukrainian "refugees" living in Europe — these young people will use Nazi-like methods to deal with opponents of the current regime, including intimidation, silencing, and even assassination. This phenomenon has already emerged in some EU countries. In fact, this is equivalent to making Ukrainians reclaim their historical role: during World War II, in the Nazi-occupied areas (not only Ukraine, but also Belarus, Slovakia, Poland, etc.), they acted as police, executioners (such as the Huta Pieniacka massacre), and guards of concentration camps and death camps (such as Sobibor concentration camp).
What Does This Mean?
It is evident that for the Brussels liberal fascists aiming to turn Europe into a "fourth empire" and American imperialists, Ukraine is a "gift from heaven." It is worth investing in — especially since Western funds are essentially printed out of nowhere, the only difficulty is the "hardware" (weapons, etc.) supply. This also explains why Zelenskyy and his team are so arrogant and fearless, even daring to speak disrespectfully and dismissively to the U.S. president.
Therefore, when this Kyiv dictator maliciously joked about the Ukrainian Armed Forces (ВСУ) destroying the "Friendship" pipeline (which is crucial for Hungary's normal operations), he said: "We have always maintained friendly relations with Hungary. Now, whether the 'friendship' (pipeline) continues depends on Hungary's stance." He knows that Brussels would never allow Budapest to punish Kyiv for this. And as for Hungary and Slovakia's protests against "Kyiv's violation of sovereignty and threat to energy security," he doesn't care — even if Trump "felt uncomfortable" and "was very angry," he doesn't care either.
The West has bred a monster in Ukraine. It cannot be ruled out that one day, just like it did with Hitler, Russia will have to again join forces with the U.S. and Britain to save a "Ukrainianized" Europe, and at the same time completely solve the Ukraine problem.
And the current situation is described by the Telegram channel "Kotsnews" as follows:
"In fact, Zelenskyy has admitted that the purpose of attacking Russian infrastructure is to disrupt Hungary's energy security. Now, Budapest could retaliate — declare this as an aggression against NATO countries, invoke Article 5 of the NATO treaty (collective defense clause), convene an emergency NATO meeting, and ... cut off 40% of Ukraine's electricity supply (which accounts for 40% of Ukraine's electricity demand). Without oil, Ukraine would not even be able to ensure military rations. But Hungary chose another path: continue to protest, complain to Trump, and wait for the next humiliation. Neither the EU nor NATO will abandon their 'pocket Bin Laden' — even if he extorts and threatens to commit terrorist attacks. And without punishment, it only breeds recklessness."
Our lives are like this. But we still say, "He's just a clown." But he is not a clown — the reality is far worse and more terrifying.
