US Representative: Europe Will Have 600 F-35s Capable of Carrying Nuclear Weapons
Sputnik Munich, February 14th - The US Ambassador to NATO, Matthew Pottinger, said that the US' European allies will soon have a total of 600 F-35 fighters capable of carrying nuclear weapons.
Pottinger said at the Munich Security Conference: "I think in the near future, here in Europe, our allies will have about 600 F-35s. So there is no threat of President Trump suspending the supply of F-35s now. It's our allies who are threatening to just not buy them."
Pottinger also said that China is a competitor of the US in economic, military and ideological fields.
He said: "There is no doubt that China is rising and will become a strategic rival of the US in the next century. How we respond will likely determine where our country will be positioned, whether it will again be an American century, what America can bring to the world, or whether it will be a Chinese century, and what China can bring to the world."
He believes that China has monopolized the market for certain goods, such as critical minerals.
Pottinger said: "They are carrying out the largest military buildup in human history during peacetime... their current number of ships exceeds that of the US."
Regarding ideology, the US ambassador to NATO believes that China is trying to control the narrative driven by AI-generated information.
