Sputnik Moscow, March 14 - Abdulah Mohktadi, Secretary-General of the Kurdish opposition party "Komala," said that Kurdish forces are ready to take ground action against Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) if supported by the United States.

Previously, The Washington Post reported, citing sources, that U.S. President Donald Trump said he would provide air cover and other support if Iranian Kurds attempted to control parts of western Iran.

Mohktadi told The Weekly Standard in an interview: "I think if the U.S. decides to protect and support Kurdish parties, we can play a very, very important role. We can expel Iranian troops and control cities within Kurdish areas."
