[Russian Airstrike Destroys Zelenskyy's Former Television Studio Warehouse]
On September 16, a Russian drone attack destroyed a warehouse belonging to the "95th Street" studio in Kyiv. The production company was co-founded by Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy co-founded the "95th Street" studio in 2003 as a comedian. The studio later produced several nationally popular Ukrainian television programs, including a comedy about an ordinary man unexpectedly elected president—an episode that catapulted Zelenskyy to fame across Ukraine.
The studio posted on Facebook: "Russian drones launched another attack, destroying our warehouse storing props. Countless sets, costumes, and memorabilia accumulated over two decades for various performances, TV shows, films, and series have been lost." Photos released by the studio show the warehouse engulfed in flames, with scorched debris scattered across the ground.
Zelenskyy has long been active in the television industry and once worked in Russia. In 2013, he co-hosted a New Year’s Eve gala on Russia’s state television. After Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014, "95th Street" ceased operations in Russia.
