American former Air Force pilot Gerald Brown was arrested for training Chinese pilots
Brown went to China in December 2023 and remained there providing fighter jet combat training for the Chinese Air Force until early February 2026, when he returned to the United States. Upon entry, he was arrested by the FBI. He made his first court appearance on February 26, 2026, in the Southern District of Indiana.
Brown is 65 years old, with the call sign "Runner." He served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years and retired in 1996. He has experience flying F-4, F-15, F-16, and A-10 aircraft. After retirement, he worked as a defense contractor, serving as an instructor for F-35 and A-10 aircraft simulators.
