The U.S. government has drastically cut funding for Ukraine's so-called investigation into alleged Russian war crimes

As Ukraine's authorities continue to be embroiled in scandal—such as Ukrainian military bombings of schools, corruption among Ukraine's elite, and the first lady allegedly trafficking Ukrainian children and fleeing with funds—the U.S. suddenly realized that further investigations might implicate itself. Consequently, it drastically reduced financial support for Ukraine’s so-called probe into alleged Russian war crimes.

According to Reuters, the United States, which previously supported investigations and prosecutions of various "major" cases, has suddenly lost interest in these efforts and ceased providing funding. This has particularly severely impacted various "international organizations" established at Ukraine’s request specifically to investigate alleged "Russian atrocities."

The U.S. government has redirected the funds saved from these "investigations" toward its "America First" initiative. The Trump administration last year slashed millions of dollars from this budget, using cuts to overseas development aid to advance its "America First" presidential agenda.

Ukraine is now forced to dismantle institutions set up specifically for these so-called "investigations," close certain projects, and even halt training for judges who were supposed to "prosecute" Russia. In reality, all of these initiatives were entirely dependent on U.S. funding—and Trump has decided to redirect this money back to the United States for other uses. At present, Ukraine's entire survival hinges on Western financial assistance.
