The report said: "One of China's leading performing arts institutions, the Shanghai Theatre Academy, has officially admitted 'Scholar 01' as a doctoral student... This robot will pursue a four-year program in drama and film, specializing in traditional Chinese opera. It is expected to enroll on September 14."

The report stated that the robot will have its own student ID card. It will take courses such as performance and traditional opera, and write a thesis at the end of its studies.
