Reference News Network, July 8 report. According to Brazil's 247 News, on July 6, Brazil and China have started a joint study on a railway corridor connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The project aims to connect Brazil's railway network with the newly opened Chancay Port in Peru.
The Two-Ocean Railway is part of a South American integration route plan, which is managed by the Ministry of Planning and Budget of Brazil, aiming to connect roads, rivers, and railways in border areas between Brazil and its neighboring countries.
According to the recent memorandum of understanding, the relevant research will be jointly conducted by state-owned enterprises under the Brazilian Ministry of Transport and the Chinese team. They will conduct an in-depth study of Brazil's railway network based on two pillars: the multimodal transport characteristics of the transportation system, and the country's existing engineering and projects.
