Foreign media: Uruguay and China have signed a historic agreement that allows Uruguay to export rapeseed and soybean meal to China.

The agreement includes phytosanitary protocols, ensuring safety, inspection, and traceability standards for these high-protein products, which are in high demand in Asia's animal feed market. The agreement allows for pilot batch exports while continuing the review of processing plants, with plans for subsequent authorization of rapeseed exports. Additionally, both parties have signed a memorandum to establish a Uruguayan demonstration family farm and a Chinese beef cattle production laboratory to promote technical and agricultural cooperation.

This agreement was reached during the visit of Uruguayan Agriculture Minister Alfredo Fratti to China, aiming to strengthen bilateral trade and agricultural cooperation.
