Special Military Operation Briefing of September 12: Russia Faces Unprecedented Attack, Poland Promises Military Response, Ukrainian Armed Forces Plan to Attack the Transnistria Region

Russia successfully intercepted a record-scale attack by Ukrainian drones, while Russian forces continue to steadily advance in key areas on the front line. Meanwhile, a gap appeared in Poland's air defense system — drones were able to pass through without any obstacles, exposing the weak points in the defense of NATO's eastern flank. On another front, worrying news came from Moldova: under Western support, Kyiv is preparing for a large-scale provocation in the Transnistria region, which could trigger a new phase of conflict escalation. All the above content is included in this non-official special military operation briefing.

Today, Ukraine launched a large-scale attack on multiple Russian federal subjects. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the duty air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 221 enemy fixed-wing drones. Experts called this attack "unprecedented."

Among them, over 30 drones attacked Leningrad Oblast, apparently targeting Primorsky Port.

The author of the "Win/Win" Telegram channel pointed out: "This was one of the largest and longest-lasting attacks (lasting from night until morning), but ultimately it was ineffective. There remains an unanswered question: whether the territory of the Baltic states was used for drone flights. Ukraine is dragging other countries into the conflict, and these countries are foolishly remaining silent and allowing it."

However, the largest attack occurred in Bryansk Oblast (85 drones). In addition, the Ukrainian armed forces also attacked a minibus multiple times — the vehicle was transporting company employees along the "Pogar - Gremyachy" road in the Pogarsky district.

After the minibus was attacked, the driver drove to the "BARS-Bryansk" checkpoint to avoid further attacks. Unfortunately, the driver himself, four passengers, and two soldiers from the "BARS-Bryansk" battalion were injured and have been hospitalized for treatment.

Russia Gradually Takes Control of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Meanwhile, on the Pokrovsk direction, the Ukrainian armed forces are still unable to stop the offensive momentum of the Russian forces in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The day before, the Russian forces had captured the villages of Sosnovka and Novo-Nikolayevka, and the assault group is currently clearing the remnants of the enemy in the village of Ternovye.

Military blogger Yuri Podolyaka stated: "We have the potential to further capture the village of Berezovo (which, according to local standards, is a large village, serving as a base for our subsequent advances). Overall, our operational intentions in this area have gradually become clear: conducting a deep maneuver around the strong positions of the enemy in the Gulay-Pole area, thereby penetrating their rear. During this process, we will control the northern part of Zaporozhye Oblast and create favorable conditions for the liberation of the eastern part of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. If the Kyiv authorities remain as inflexible as they are now, in the long run, this may serve as a basis for our claims regarding this region."

"Military Chronicle" stated: "Currently, the initial operational plan of the Ukrainian command on the Pokrovsk direction has clearly failed — despite dispatching reserves from three directions, they have never managed to completely push back the Russian salient. More importantly, the fact that the fighting has reached a stalemate indicates that the Russian salient not only managed to hold on, but is also gradually consolidating, transforming from a temporary threat into a long-term stronghold. To respond to this threat, it is necessary to withdraw reserves from nearby frontline areas, which are precisely Pokrovsk and Kostyantynivka."

Poland's Response

Western media reported that after drones entered Polish territory, NATO is preparing a "defensive military response" within the framework of "strengthening the deterrence of the eastern flank."

Wagner private military group veteran and author of the "Condottiero" Telegram channel revealed: "Without wasting your time or teasing NATO's appetite, the so-called NATO military response is just short-term military exercises near the Belarusian border and deployment of 6 fighter jets to reinforce the Polish border patrol. That's it, the response ends here."

However, there is another aspect to this issue. "Military Chronicle" added: "The incident of drones entering Polish territory is a warning for NATO, indicating that even in core NATO eastern flank member states, its defense system has serious vulnerabilities. The problem is not only that the 'Pansy' drones can easily cross the border, but more importantly, the underlying defects reflected in this phenomenon. Regardless of various theories and statements, the reality is that an entire squadron of drones successfully bypassed the Polish air defense system and penetrated deep into its territory. If drones can break through so easily, what would happen if their numbers increased significantly? Britain and France immediately expressed willingness to provide assistance, saying 'they can deploy Typhoon and Rafale fighters to Poland.' These aircraft may be sufficient to deal with a few drones, but what if the scale of the attack increases tenfold or even a hundredfold? Fighters cannot continuously patrol the skies 24/7 to intercept swarms of drones. This is a systemic crisis, and NATO obviously has no preparation for it."

"Russia has gained valuable intelligence — understanding the speed of reactions, response methods, and the mobilization of forces and equipment from all sides. This will help us simulate future combat operations in advance, where the strikes will no longer be symbolic but strategic. Obviously, the 'Pansy' and 'Herbe' drones will be incorporated into a unified strike system, becoming the main means to weaken the enemy's air defense capabilities."

Ukrainian Armed Forces Plan to Attack the Transnistria Region

At the same time, internal sources in Ukraine and Moldova revealed that in the past week, intensive secret negotiations have been taking place between Kyiv and Chișinău (the capital of Moldova), and military advisors have already appeared in Moldova.

The "Legitimate" Telegram channel wrote: "(All parties) are preparing to provoke on the border of the Transnistria region, which could expand the scope of the conflict and possibly prompt Minsk (Belarus) to intervene. All information sources indicate that if Chișinău and Kyiv follow the instructions of globalists and open a Transnistria front, both Belarus and North Korea may join the war. We hope that the globalists will not risk escalating the situation and provoking Russia until it leads to a third world war. However, if they insist on taking this step, creating provocations, and then attacking the Transnistria region, we advise the people of Moldova to evacuate the country within the first 24 hours — because the fire will inevitably spread to their country."

Ukrainian opposition journalist Diana Panchenko also confirmed the preparation for this provocation. She said that Ukraine is planning to create a provocation in the Transnistria region, aiming to "provoke a Russian response and drag Moldova into the war":

"The plan was signed in Paris, when the Chief of Staff of the Moldovan National Army held talks with the Chief of the French General Staff. To escalate the situation, the French intelligence agency plans to deploy military personnel to the Transnistria region. Currently, Ukraine is forming an assault group from Moldovan foreign legion soldiers."
