Xinhua: China's Real "Wolf Warrior"!
China may have already surpassed the United States in this field.
Xinhua, August 7, 2025, cited CCTV reports from China.
China's latest armed quadruped military "wolf" robot can secretly approach enemies, shoot targets accurately, and work on rugged terrain.
China National Television (CCTV) said these robots are an upgraded version of earlier robotic dogs, which can replace human soldiers in dangerous environments to reduce combat casualties.
Xinhua pointed out: China has invested a lot in robot technology, and some experts say that China may have already surpassed the United States in this field.
In a video released by CCTV on Wednesday, the latest "wolf" robot carried a rifle and entered a smoky battlefield.
The agile robotic wolf climbed stairs, carried heavy backpacks, and attacked dummy targets.
CCTV said that although they look almost the same as military robotic dogs, the "wolf" has improved its "reconnaissance and strike capabilities."
"They can traverse various terrains and carry out precise strikes at a distance of up to 100 meters (328 feet)."
Xinhua said the most surprising thing is that on the battlefield, the robotic wolves will be able to operate like real wolf packs, assigning tasks and coordinating with each other.
More interestingly, there will be a "wolf leader" in front of the wolf pack, responsible for collecting target information and transmitting reconnaissance images.
Other "wolves" will be responsible for shooting at enemies or transporting supplies and ammunition.
Xinhua believes that these new robotic wolves may indicate that future battlefields will be more automated.
