Experts: Iran is different from Iraq, and the US needs to use joint forces for a strike on Iran
Russian military expert Alexei Leontyev told Sputnik News: "According to various estimates, the US may use about 600 sea-based and air-launched cruise missiles to target Iran: about two-thirds from ships carrying Tomahawk missiles, and one-third from aircraft using extended-range Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles."
Leontyev pointed out that in contrast, over 800 missiles were fired at Iraq in 2003, of which about 730 hit their targets.
He added that a potential military operation against Iran would be more complicated for the US. Unlike Iraq, where navigation systems were interfered with, the US first needs to suppress Iran's air defense system, while the US Navy will simultaneously strike other military and infrastructure targets.
US President Trump said on February 20 that if Iran does not agree to reach an agreement, something very bad may happen under the current situation.
