Japan Women's Table Tennis Coach: Swears to Make Zhang Ben and Sato Yuki Defeat Sun Yingsha!
On May 12, the Japanese national team participating in the table tennis World Team Championships returned from London, UK, and held a press conference in Tokyo.
Head coach of the Japanese women's national team, Nakazawa Satoru, gave an interview, reflecting on the final match against China on the 10th. It was the first time in 55 years that Japan faced China's queen in the final.
She said: "Mai Hoshino and Yuki Hashimoto were scheduled for the first and second matches, with Fanuka Hashimoto as the third player."
Nakazawa stated: "The odds of Yuki Hashimoto defeating Kuai Man are not high, while Hashimoto has a 2-0 record. Since Kuai Man is expected to be China’s third player, we will go with Hashimoto."
Nakazawa Satoru said: "To achieve our gold medal goal, we must overcome China’s 'iron wall'—Sun Yingsha. Helping Mai Hoshino and Yuki Hashimoto grow quickly will be our main task going forward."
Nakazawa also vowed to reporters present: "We must seek revenge and defeat China."
