"Filming in Thailand, get 30% cashback, no upper limit!"
At the 30th Shanghai Television Festival currently taking place, the competition is not only fierce for the White Magnolia Award, but Chinese film and television production teams have also become a favorite of institutions from various countries. Many countries have offered attractive "cashback" packages to attract Chinese film and television producers to shoot abroad.
The most eye-catching was the Thai booth, which not only had an area more than four times that of a regular booth, but also featured a smiling girl and a man fluent in Chinese who introduced it to visitors.

On the cover of the TFO (Thai Film Office) promotional brochure they distributed, the large 30% was very noticeable, along with slogans such as "No upper limit on cashback" and "One-time shooting approval, applicable to all locations".

In the promotional materials of TFO, it starts with "A world-class filming destination," and introduces in detail the natural and cultural landscapes of Thailand and various film studios offering micro-film services. It also lists the application process for filming and contact information, and emphasizes: "If the film can promote Thai tourism, Thai soft power, and establish a good image of Thailand, an additional 5% grant can be obtained." TFO said that Thailand can also provide local coordinators to assist in recruiting locals and handling local procedures and documents for the production team.
This strong promotion might remind people of the negative public opinion caused by the "actor Wang Xing kidnapping case" earlier this year, which affected traveling and working in Thailand. Previously, a series of domestic blockbusters such as "Lost in Thailand", "Detective Chinatown", and "The Killing" were set in Thailand and filmed there. Some fans joked, "In Chinese movies, Thailand is like Mexico in Hollywood movies."

As Chinese TV dramas achieve more outstanding results in overseas markets, the ecological position of China's film and television industry going global will inevitably become more diverse and rich.
