Here we go again? US military has drafted a military plan for Nigeria, with three options

Is Trump planning to start a war against Venezuela and Nigeria at the same time?

On the 6th, The New York Times reported that under Trump's orders, the US Africa Command has drafted a military intervention plan for Nigeria, which includes three options, with potential targets being the terrorist organizations "Boko Haram" and the "Islamic State" branch based in Nigeria.

The first option is to continue providing military intelligence support to Nigeria, with the Nigerian government forces conducting operations against "Boko Haram" and the "Islamic State" branch;

The second option is for the US military to directly deploy drones to conduct air strikes on terrorist camps, personnel, and bases in Nigeria;

The third option is to deploy an aircraft carrier strike group near the waters of Nigeria, carrying out deep strikes on the terrorist bases in northern Nigeria.

However, no matter which option is chosen, there are certain problems. For example, the Nigerian government may not accept US drones entering its airspace, the US drone bases in Africa are far from Nigeria, and apart from the "Ford" aircraft carrier currently located in the Mediterranean Sea near North Africa, the US Navy has no extra aircraft carriers available for deployment.

Therefore, before the US military action is launched, Trump's various harsh words and threats against Venezuela and Nigeria can only be considered as extreme pressure or political performances to cater to domestic supporters.
