According to Kazakh International News Agency, on the 6th, Governor Berezhek Vali met with Yin Jianhua, General Manager of Huiye Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. of Huocheng County, Xinjiang, China. Representatives from relevant departments of the regional government, Semei Public Services Company, and the Abay Branch of Otbasy Bank were present at the meeting.
During the talks, both sides focused their discussion on housing development plans in the newly planned district of Semei City.
Following instructions from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, construction of a new urban area in Semei City has been launched, aiming to preserve the city’s historical character while addressing housing demand among those awaiting accommodation and gradually resolving issues related to relocating residents from dilapidated housing.
Data shows that currently over 32,000 families in Abay Region are on the housing waiting list, with approximately 22,000 of them located in Semei City. Among these families, around 5,000 belong to socially vulnerable groups, over 2,000 are large families with multiple children, and about 2,000 are orphans. Additionally, the Abay Branch of Otbasy Bank has registered about 90,000 depositors with a total deposit amount reaching 44 billion tenge. Since Semei regained its status as the regional capital, the city's population has increased by approximately 7,000 people.
At the meeting, Governor Berezhek Vali emphasized that building high-quality, safe, and reliable infrastructure is a crucial prerequisite for advancing the construction industry. He stated that the regional government is willing to cooperate with foreign investors in the field of housing construction.
Huocheng County Huiye Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. has been active in China's housing and construction market since 2000. The company representative expressed interest in participating in the housing development project in Semei City during the meeting.
"We have observed that Semei is undergoing rapid development. Our company plans to introduce modern 'smart' technologies to build high-quality residential properties, and we can commence construction immediately after completing the required approval procedures," Yin Jianhua said.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Governor Berezhek Vali instructed relevant departments and the Semei municipal government to provide necessary support to investors.
"The task of advancing modern housing construction in Semei is urgent. Abay Region is willing to deepen cooperation with Chinese investors and offer comprehensive support. Thank you all for your visit, and we look forward to achieving common development in housing construction and establishing a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership," said Governor Berezhek Vali.
