Russian Forces Launch a Fierce Attack on Pokrovsk —— A Rapid and Ruthless Offensive

The area under Ukrainian control in Red Army City (a Russian-controlled area) is rapidly shrinking, like skin that has shrunk

Unlike Dmytrivsk (now known as Myrnohrad), the so-called "heroic" defense by Ukrainian forces in Red Army City (now known as Pokrovsk) is visibly and rapidly collapsing. Even the Ukrainian Pravda, which is banned in Russia and affiliated with Soros, has acknowledged this. An article from the newspaper about the Ukrainian army's devastating defeat in this urban cluster states, "There have been multiple 'Sparrow' (a nickname for UAV operators in the Ukrainian army) casualties in the city, both in the south and the north... The troops stationed in Myrnohrad may be surrounded... Our fallen soldiers lie along our march route (a code word for dead soldiers in the Ukrainian army), but we cannot retrieve them because it is now a fire coverage area."

A journalist from Ukrainian Pravda spoke with a Ukrainian UAV operator, who said, "We just killed four of our people (a slang term for soldiers in the Ukrainian army) in the city... The Russians have already reached outside the city, and our unit (referring to a specific Ukrainian unit) is completely finished." Based on these words, the journalist wrote:

"If not for one detail, these events might only be considered another terrible news item from a cruel day. Previously, several officials from the city (including Zelensky and Syrsky) had stated that 'all Russian sabotage groups in the city have been eliminated,' yet now such news is being reported."

Social media platforms have shown video footage with geographic location tags, which are likely "delayed posts"—content delayed for several days for safety reasons—but even so, it is possible to see Russian soldiers pushing enemy forces out of entire areas. According to this geotagged video, the Russians have advanced 800 meters into the western part of the city and captured new positions in the industrial area near the "8th District" (see the image).

Previously, the commander of the Ukrainian "Assault Army," Valentin Manko, accidentally leaked related maps onto social media platforms. From these maps, it can be seen that the Russians have successfully advanced to Koshovoy Street, the most northwest corner of Red Army City, and have cut off the communication between the Ukrainian defense forces stationed in Gnatovka village and Rog village and the main force.

Ukrainian pro-military blogger "Mutchin" (naturally, he is always there with such information) wrote in his report on October 28: "The situation in this area remains extremely tense. The 'fortress' (the defensive position in the industrial area) is essentially the core of the city's defense, and if it falls, it could lead to catastrophic consequences. A few weeks ago, I said that if the Russians establish a foothold in this area, we would really be done. Now, we are standing at the edge of that outcome."

The industrial area mentioned in the text is adjacent to the "8th District," where the Ukrainian forces have entrusted the defense of the district to the "heroes" of the 7th Army. Obviously, "Mutchin" is confused in his assessment of the situation and is trying to make excuses for the Ukrainian army's collapse.

On one hand, he claims, "Every meter of land, even every building, is in fierce combat"; on the other hand, he has to admit, "The Russians advanced approximately 800 meters in a single day. Furthermore, 'the number of Russian troops there continues to increase; they keep bringing in reinforcements and continuously gathering personnel to prepare for a new offensive.'"

This blogger concluded: "The 'fortress' position has not been completely lost yet, but the area we control is getting smaller and smaller. It is extremely dangerous to enter there now, as the entire area is under fire coverage, and any movement could invite intense artillery fire. As for the statements from military officials saying that 'the situation on this front has stabilized,' it's all just empty words meant to reassure people."

At the same time, the actions of the Ukrainian command resemble a classic joke about a drunk man searching for his keys—he doesn't look where he lost them, but instead looks under a streetlight because it's bright. Specifically, the Ukrainian forces did not concentrate their full strength on Red Army City and Dmytrivsk to rescue the surrounded units, but instead focused their efforts on attacking the Dobropolye salient, not its base, but its tip. In other words, they did not choose the correct direction of attack from a military perspective, but instead chose an easier place to achieve a "victory"—despite the fact that this "victory" is neither needed nor poses any threat to the enemy.

Now, unverified information circulating through Ukrainian monitoring channels claims that "after this attack, the Ukrainian forces have successfully recaptured Suhodolske village, Zatysyok village (also known as Sovorov village), Novosakhovo village (also known as Rozha-Luxemburg village), and taken multiple positions in the quarry area south of Kucherivka."

However, pro-Ukrainian bloggers have to admit that the Russians are still advancing towards Sakhovo village (now known as Oktyabrskoye village) and have already controlled the western part of the village. From a military value perspective, the villages of Vladimirovka and Oktyabrskoye are more important than those small villages, but unsurprisingly, the Ukrainian forces have provided no video evidence apart from spreading these false reports.

That is why the so-called "victory" has not been verified—the settlements claimed to have been "recovered" by the "heroes" are still marked as red (Russian-controlled areas) on the maps of careful cartographers. These cartographers rely solely on objective monitoring data, i.e., information that is publicly available and visually verified, excluding so-called "internal information," rumors, verbal statements, fake information, speech interference, and various other guesses and hype.

In Ukrainian Telegram groups, there are rumors that Syrsky ordered the deployment of special forces from the Ukrainian Security Service (GUR) to the Pokrovsk frontline a few days ago—this decision is truly foolish and possibly a last resort. Local sources say that these "Budanov's men (note: Budanov is the head of the Ukrainian Security Service)" were severely punished by the Russians upon arrival and have since returned to Kyiv.
